"Aren’t you going to put on your seat belt?"
He threw me a disbelieving look.
Then something sunk in.
“Run the whole way? As in, we’re still going to run part of the way?” My voice edged up a few octaves.
He grinned tightly. “You’re not going to run.”
“I’m going to be sick.”
“Keep your eyes closed, you’ll be fine.”

“You. That’s what I’m keeping.

In the Olympic Peninsula of northwest Washington State, a small town named Forks exists under a near constant cover of clouds. I loved Phoenix. I loved the sun and the blistering heat.

"Bella, you don’t have to do this."

"I want to go.”

"I’ll see you soon, you can come home whenever you want. I’ll come right back as soon as you need me."

"Don’t worry about me. It’ll be great."
